Casalinda Studio was launched in 2007 by Linda DaPra and her daughter, Jennifer Dermer. Linda, with a BA in Applied Design from San Diego State University is the design force behind the company while Jennifer, with a BS in Marketing and Communications from The Fashion Institute of Technology handles the business side.
Created with the environment in mind, casalinda studio utilizes only recycled precious and semi-precious metals and recycled, reclaimed and vintage stones and beads. New semi-precious stone beads are US mined or purchased from Fair Trade Suppliers.
Casalinda Studio supports many Southern California, environmentally conscious organizations throughout the year with donations of jewelry for fund raising auctions, and as a member of "Designers 4 Africa," a place for designers and small businesses to connect and give back, the company is able to give more globally.
Inspiration for Linda's designs comes from the native flora and geographical topography that exist in California. For example, her Desert Hibiscus Flower pendant and signature line of hand-hammered Mud Crack link necklaces, earrings and bracelets are products of this inspiration.
"California's botanical and geological diversity is an artistic treasure that is my motivation. We must all conserve this environment and preserve the diversity of life that exists here."
